The Foundation for Florida’s Future Applauds Investment in Workforce Development

Nathan Hoffman, Senior Legislative Director for the Foundation for Florida’s Future, issued the following statement responding to the announcement of more than $22 million in funding for workforce development.

“We applaud Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. and Governor Ron DeSantis for their commitment to shaping the future of Florida’s workforce.

“The announcement of over $22 million in funding for workforce development initiatives is a significant step toward meeting the Governor’s goal of being #1 in workforce education. These opportunities will provide students with invaluable hands-on experiences in high-demand fields, ensuring they are prepared for well-paying jobs.

“The investment in programs spanning aerospace, biomedical science, digital video tech, aviation, and more reflects a strategic approach to preparing the next generation for success in a rapidly evolving job market.

“None of this would be possible without the leadership of Senator Travis Hutson, who established the program this past session. As future rounds of funding become available, we hope innovative proposals, like those between charter schools and industry partners, can benefit as well. We’re committed to working with Sen. Hutson and the legislature to make this happen.”
