Foundation for Florida’s Future Executive Director Patricia Levesque issued the following statement in response to the announcement today that more than 300,000 students have applied for scholarships for the coming school year:
“It’s never been clearer that Florida is the parental choice state. In the 10 days since applications opened, 300,000 families have applied to secure their education choice scholarship for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a nearly 12% increase in demand over this time last year and speaks to the continued demand our state’s scholarship programs enjoy.
“As the legislature contemplates overhauling the application process and the ongoing administration of the programs, we hope they will recognize that tens of thousands of Florida families depend on an easily navigable and consistent process that allows them to take advantage of the great opportunities available in Florida.”
