Statement from Governor Jeb Bush, Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Florida’s Future, on Florida’s 2020-21 budget:
“In the midst of historically trying times, Florida’s leaders continue to invest in student-centered policies that will help this great state and its families now and in the future.
“This bold budget provides historic raises for teachers, helps servicemembers transition to the civilian workforce and expands educational opportunities to an additional 32,000 children in the next school year, joining nearly 170,000 students in finding the learning environment that best fits their needs.
“I appreciate Senate President Bill Galvano and House Speaker Jose Oliva for their steady leadership and the Florida legislature for prioritizing the needs of students and families.
“Floridians have been tested by incredible challenges before. We will emerge from this crisis stronger and with an ever-brighter future because of this continued focus on students.”
