The Foundation for Florida’s Future issued the following statement on the U.S. Department of Education’s approval of Florida’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) state plan.
“Florida’s state education plan sustains and strengthens a proven accountability system that have transformed our state from one of the worst performing to a national leader in student success.
“Validated by results in the ‘Nation’s Report Card,’ Florida is making greater educational progress than any other state and has achieved a high school graduation rate that’s at a 14-year high.
“Approval of the statewide plan sends a clear message that Florida remains on the right track toward ensuring each and every child, from the Panhandle to the Florida Keys, receives a quality education.”
